"There can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return." - Nelson Mandela

About 15 Cashbuild employees rolled up their sleeves and joined the community of Soweto in building a soccer field. Cashbuild is donating just over R1M in to build a soccer field in the Orlando West. The building material retailer, Cashbuild, is actively involved in community development initiatives and building a soccer field in Orlando West is another one of these valuable initiatives. After being approached by the community of Orlando West, Cashbuild agreed to make a donation towards building a proper soccer field in the area. On the 28 February and imbued by the words Mandela 15 staff dedicated their time to volunteer in the construction of the project. The employees put a lot of effort and assisted in concrete mixing, painting and gum pole installation. Community development is very close to the business heart and as part of its vision to make a positive contribution to every community in which it trades, Cashbuild has been contributing to local schools for almost 20 years. Improving learning and development for students is a key focus area for Cashbuild and this is why Cashbuild is excited to contribute to this project. The soccer field will benefit more than six schools in the area and become a home to four local soccer teams. The contribution will also assist with building an outdoor gym and creating a local community garden will be located close to the soccer field.
